How much money would you spend on a purse?

Before I got married I had a huge purse addiction. I would probably get a new purse every other month! I loved buying a new purse, specially when I could get an awesome bargain on it. [ ie. tj-maxx!!!! ]

I think the most I've ever spent on a purse was $75 (I got it had Tj-Maxx!) & that was for a Lucky Brand purse.
[ This one ^ but my handle was dark brown
& I quickly learned that ... white gets dirty super fast "/ ]

Next in line - my Vera Bradley collection. They are not cheap.
Well.. they're probably cheap when you have lots of money but when your a high school/college student who has two part time jobs - paying for gas, car insurance, and your phone and all the other little things - buying a Vera Bradley purse wasn't cheap!
 You like my collection?

Yeah right!
(Google pic all the way)

And of course when I was into Roxy, O'Neil and all those brands - I spent (and my mother spent) a lot of money on my purse addiction! Thanks mom! :) haha!

Anyways what I'm getting at is.. I've never been the one to have really, what I like to call.. over the top purses like:
Coach

Dooney and Bourke
(Beautiful..........)

Prada
or Louis Vuitton
In fact, even the thought of spending hundreds of dollars on a purse....( with our lifestyle ) blows my mind
Don't get me wrong - If I had money I wouldn't think twice about spending a couple hundred or maybe even a couple grand on a nice purse.

Let me get to my point... lol
Since I've been married (a year and.. four months) I have not bought myself ONE purse. Can you believe it? I was switching purses this morning... and I was looking up at my purse collection(if that's what you wanna call it..) and was thinking, geez.. this collection is pretty lame. They are all.. OLD
I've switched them around so many times - it's time for a new purse!
I've sold some of my really NICE Vera Bradley purses for some extra cash and I wish I hadn't done that.

Sigh...
So with all that being said - I have a question for you ladies out there!
How much money would YOU spend on a purse?

Can't wait to hear all the answers!
My answer: Depends. With our lifestyle right now, I don't think I could spend more then 50 bucks on a purse. I just can't bring myself to spend a lot of money on a purse when there are so many other things we need! I'm such a good wife... haha. Now if my husband agreed on me spending some good money on a pur$e - then I would totally do it :)

  1. I am totally more likely to spend a lot of money on shoes than I am on a purse. I carry the same purse/bag all the time basically and it doesn't bother me too much. But shoes.... wooo. I dream of Jimmy Choos.

I wish I had the money for those! With our saving newlywed lifestyle now I cannot justify more than $30 or so...

  2. I have a huge Vera obsession, and haven't bought one in about a year, so the itch is really getting to me especially since they are discounted at the MCX (hubby always steers me in the opposite direction of the store display, lol)! Anyways, I won't spend more than $75 on a purse/bag and it would have to be a larger purse (like a tote) for me to spend that much :)

  3. Girl, when you come over again, you'll understand that I, too, have a horrible purse addiction. If you want to, and TRUST ME, I know it's not the same as having your own, but until you can save up a bit to get yourself the purse you want, you can absolutely borrow mine! :D

I don't have any Vera Bradley, and I still have alll my old purses, but I have a crazy selection, mostly in Zebra. :p

    Love you!!

And btw, my answer, save up a little from each paycheck, just, very small amounts you'll barely notice, and at the end of a month or two, splurge on ya a nice purse! :)

  4. I am definitely NOT a purse shopper, more of a backpack wearer. I guess when I do buy them I am happy to spend up to $150.00 provided they don't go out of fashion too quickly, and last a good while.

  5. OMG, I love the PRADA bag!

I use the same bags over and over again. LOL. (:

To answer your question, the most I've spent and probably always will spend on a purse was/is $50.

  6. I think the most I would spend is $50, the most I have ever spent though has been $40. I love purses and would love to have a Juicy Courture purse (or diaper bag!), but Kathy Ireland makes some really beautiful purses that remind me of Juicy purses for a third of the price. I'm not against buying a really cute knock off of a name brand :)

  7. Ok, I'm going to try to say this and not look bad lol. I have several VB bags and I love them. When I get tired of carrying one, I get something new. I also have several Coach bags (which I got at the outlets for cheaper than their normal prices) and I have several Dooney bags. I've never spent more than 200 bucks for a bag.

  8. I just spent 200 dollars on a juicy bag I always wanted I am loving it! At first I was regretting it but it is nice to have something of good quality than otherwise. If you can afford it is ok because no one will judge you more than yourself.
